The Atlanta Suomi Finland Society (ASFS) is a non-profit, non-partisan cultural organization.
ASFS is a Regional Chapter of Finlandia Foundation National

"The purpose of the Society is to help members in learning, preserving, and enjoying the Finnish traditions, customs, history, and cultural heritage. The Society desires to enable members and others to obtain a better awareness and appreciation of Finnish contributions to American life, past and present, as well as Finnish contributions to the world. The Society serves as a medium in which members and guests may gather to socialize and to observe Finnish holidays and other festive or commemorative occasions."

ASFS organizes traditional annual Finnish holidays/festivities, such as the May Day Celebration, Christmas Party, and Finnish language church services for Easter and Christmas.  It also works with other organizations to promote other Scandinavian events such as the Midsummer Nights Eve Celebration, the Scandinavian Festival, and the Finnish Independence Day Celebration (which is funded by the Finnish-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeast).

ASFS works to promote Finnish culture through the planning of productions, films, and other cultural happenings. ASFS also keeps a Finnish library and helps represent Finland in international events in Atlanta.

A bilingual newsletter, FINNEWS, is sent out to the membership several times a year to keep members informed of upcoming ASFS events, other events in the Scandinavian community, and news/happenings in Finland.
